Bible Reading – Luke 5:17-26
Creative Story Telling – https://childrensministry.com/jesus-heals-forgives/
Please review this webpage before Sunday. It’s a great way to tell the story with crowding/uncrowding and a fun pretzel activity in the middle of the story.

Craft 1 –  https://www.orientaltrading.com/jesus-heals-sign-craft-kit-a2-13649636.fltr
We will give each kids two hearts (one large, one small), a piece of string, two band aids. Either teachers or children can write “Jesus Heals.”

Game 1– Mat Races
Younger class: have one student sit on a blanket and see if everyone else working together can move them from one side of the classroom to the other. Make sure each student gets a turn.
Older class: Divide the students into two teams. Choose the smallest student to sit on the blanket. The first team to get their teammate to the other side of the room without dragging them wins. If this game seems to be getting out of control at any point, please stop it and move on to a different activity.

Game 2 – Traverse and Obstacle Course
Younger class: Set up some cones and have them encourage one another as they are walking through it – friends encouraging friends
Older class: Set up the obstacle course with the cones. Blindfold a volunteer and see if they can follow someone else’s directions to get through. If this seems to be going well, you can complicate it by having two people give wrong directions so the blindfolded person has to listen even more carefully to right person. Or you can keep the students in teams to see who can direct the person through the fastest, requiring them to start over if they knock down a cone.

Each student will need to bring a Bible to class. This will help them participate during Bible reading time, but it will also allow them to learn to use their Bibles. When any child can say the books of the Bible in the correct order to the coordinators, there will be an extra special prize.
